If the issue isn't solved by following this video then try the options in How to fix:ERR_GFX_D3D_INITfailed initialization please reboot and restart the game Removing the d3d DLL files in the GTA V folder is interesting, because this is an official "workaround" that Rockstar themselves give you if you contact them about this issue. The two d3d DLL files are HLSL compilers that handle shaders, and so it is reasonable to assume that the ERR_GFX_D3D_INIT crash might be related to shaders. Hello! A lot of you guys who have a directx 10 or directx 10.1 Graphics card, while playing Grand Theft Auto V, when hit the Escape button to access pause menu, a box says: err_gfx_d3d_init and the game crashes to desktop!
